About the Artist
IRMA GARZA GARCIA is native of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and has been residing in McAllen, TX since 2001. Daughter of Mexican immigrants, she spent her childhood traveling accompanying her parents to their seasonal jobs from Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Illinois and Texas in the US. These constant trips were the reason of real eagerness towards her academic performance at that time. Since childhood, she found the arts fascinating and developed a preference towards drawing and later to oil painting. Irma had been self-taught over the years but in 2008, she registered at a renowned school of art based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, The Art Instruction School. She continued studying abroad, taking several art workshops in Mexico City with Dr. Angel Alberto Bustillos in 2012, Professor Diana O. Montemayor in McAllen, TX, from 2015 to 2019 and academic online art courses at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, (UNAM). Irma is currently register at South Texas College and is working toward an associate degree in Visual Arts. Her work has left her great satisfaction; Irma’s paintings have been exhibited in successful private and commercial enclosures, like Telemundo40 in McAllen, TX, Ringgold Elementary School, in Rio Grande City, TX and US Customs, Border Protection- Anzalduas Port of Entry, Mission, TX, among others. Irma has already achieved successful exhibits in Europe, Mexico and United States, where her artwork has been accepted and admired.
Her paintings are of vivid images braced with a strong sentimental meaning, revealing her intimate connection with her origins and reflect clearly her experiences in artistic growth.

IRMA GARZA GARCIA, es oriunda de Nuevo León, Mx., actualmente reside en McAllen, Tx. Hija de inmigrantes mexicanos, paso su infancia viajando acompañando a sus padres a los trabajos de estación entre los estados de Illinois, Texas en E.A. y Nuevo Leon en Mexico, siendo estos constantes viajes el motivo de un verdadero afán para sus estudios académicos. Desde su infancia, las artes le parecieron fascinantes. Con el tiempo desarrolló una inclinación hacia el dibujo y más tarde, a la pintura al óleo. Irma había sido autodidacta a lo largo de los años, pero en 2008, se inscribió en una reconocida escuela de arte con sede en Minneapolis, Minnesota, The Art Instruction School terminando satisfactoriamente. Continuó estudiando pintura en el extrangero con el profesores Dr. Angel Alberto Bustillos, en la Ciudad de México en el año 2012, Profa. Diana O. Montemayor en Mcallen, TX durante los años de 2015 al 2019, asi como cursos academicos de arte en linea en la Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, (UNAM). Irma se encruentra actualmente estudiando en South Texas College en McAllen, TX. Su obra le ha dejado una gran satisfacción, sus pinturas se han exhibido en algunos recintos privados y comerciales exitosos, tales como Telemundo40 en McAllen, Texas, la Escuela Primaria Ringgold, en Rio Grande City, Texas y en Aduanas, Protección Fronteriza de EE. UU., Puerto de Entrada Anzalduas, Misión, TX, entre otros. Irma ya ha logrado exhibiciones exitosas en Europa, México y Estados Unidos, donde sus obras de arte han sido aceptadas y admiradas.
Sus pinturas, con imágenes vívidas de un fuerte significado sentimental. Estas revelan su conexión íntima con sus orígenes y reflejan claramente sus experiencias en el crecimiento artístico.
"Me gusta expresar en mis pinturas sentimientos y experiencias memorables, explorar diferentes posibilidades con el fascinante estudio de las bellas artes. Me siento con una total libertad y sentido de la aventura cuando levanto un pincel. Quiero proyectar un nivel de vitalidad y expresión a mi obra, una con la que espero, la gente pueda relacionarse. "
